Life is still crazy

Wow no way I will ever stay on top of this thing while building a house. Right now Peighton is playing w/ Dylan and Britt is downstairs working out so I have a few seconds. Our family is still doing well just trying to keep our sanity. We had fun on New Years just staying up w/ our friends playing Rock band on Jarem's XBox. Pretty addicting game. I have no rhythm in case any body out there did not know this. The house is coming along pretty well, I wish a little faster but that's what you get when you try to do so much yourself. Today we got to see our soffit and facia done on part of the house which was pretty exciting. Glad to see the color looks good up. Its just so hard to pick out colors off of a little swatch. Hopefully they will be insulating next week and Sheetrocking 2 weeks from Monday. After that I'm afraid things might actually be going to fast for me to keep up, since I have to do all the Tile, Stone on the front of the house and build the deck over the Daylight basement along w/ put in a septic system before we can move in. That's just my part. Plus somewhere in all this I need to actually see my wife and daughter a minute or two. So as you all can see our life is pretty low stress right now. We are making the best of it all and in a few years maybe I will forget how much work went into this house and actually start enjoying it all. We are very thankful for being able to be in this situation especially in this day and age w/ the economy, even though it is a lot of work we believe it will all be worth it in the end. Cant wait for Peighton to have some space to actually run around. Anyway I will try to get some more Pic's of Peighton to post, she really is the only good reason to actually look at this site since she is so dang cute. Talk to you all soon. C ya

Let it snow

Well so much for a mild winter to build the house in. The snowman pic was taken only 10 days before the pic with all the snow(notice the mail box is almost berried). We got a ton of snow last night and today. It took me almost an hour to just shovel out my driveway. Peighton loves the snow and loved building the snowman. It was difficult to get her to come inside that day. Today peighton got to open her first Christmas gift that her grandma sent her from California. She was so excited, it was the first thing she wanted to do today. Grandma sent her and Dylan a few gifts to open on certain days before Christmas. Peighton also got to sit on santa's lap and tell him what she wants for Christmas last night. She did very well and even told him she wants "two toys" and a "kitchen". She is very specific in the number of toys. Plus 2 is now her favorite number, it all started when she turned 2 and now she want's 2 of everything. Anyway talk to you all soon and Merry Christmas from the Russell family.

Getting There

Well we have made lots of progress. Me and Joe just finished the plumbing and the framers will be done this week. Now all we have to do is electrical, heating, flooring, sheetrock, paint WOW NEVER MIND WAY TO MUCH TO LIST!!!!. Oh well its coming along. Should be mostly closed in this week also. Sounds like we may actually beat the snow. Of all years this is the only year I actually am hoping for a mild winter.
Peighton is still as cute as ever and she likes to go see the "dirt" thats what we call the new house because thats all it was when she first started coming up. I will get some new Pic's of her on here soon. Britt and I are just managing trying to keep our sanity while building a new home.

I couldn't Resist

I couldn't resist posting this picture. Me and Jarem took Peighton fishing the other day and man did she have a blast. She loved holding the fish and helping get the net. She got so excited whenever we would catch something. She loved touching the fish w/ her finger and watching it move. Brit got to come up and join us a little later and we all had a blast.

Man I am not any good at this!!!

I know I promised pics of Dominican Republic and I will get around to it. We have just been way busy building our new house. Man a lot of work goes into it. I will try to get some more updated pics soon. The pic I posted is a few weeks ago but it shows the skyline and Britt so you all can see my view. Its pretty nice up there especially in the evening. One day I will get my wife to start updating this blog and maybe she will be a little better at it than me. Anyway life has been good, Peighton is getting so big and she finally used the big potty yesterday. We where so proud. She has all kinds of personality and is repeating everything we say. Love ya all!!!

Wow this is tuff to stay on top of

Well we have been so busy with house stuff and vacation it has been hard to stay on top of this whole blog thing. We still have not actually started our house but with any luck it will be soon. Dominican Republic was fun, a little different than we expected but still fun. The Caribbean water is awesome the snorkeling was great and the beach was amazing. Our hotel was good the country was pretty in the mountains. The towns where a little scary. Not a place that you want to get off of the beaten path. We mostly hung out at the beach although we did go on a dinner cruise that took us out in the ocean to a sand bar way off shore where we got off the boat and had some drinks. Pretty neat to be able to stand that far out into the ocean. We also went over to Catalina Island and did some shopping along w/ some snorkeling at the reef on the way there. Then we took one all day excursion up into the mountains in a jungle tour truck that you sit in the back of. It took us to see where they harvest coffee beans, cocoa beans, and Sugar Cane. We also got to try all of the above. I will be posting pic's soon hopefully. Peighton is getting bigger every day and more personality all the time. She is the cutest little girl in the world!! Well I will try to keep this updated a little more often. Talk to you all soon.

Not Much New

Well not a lot going on new in our life's to post. We went up to our lot this weekend and drove around trying to figure out the best placement for our home. I think this weekend we will actually take some stakes and try to stake it off. It is hard to pick the best placement on almost 3 acres. We also went to the Home and Garden show in poky w/ Jarem and Trish. It was fun for the most part, except when my wife lost her wedding ring. We spent the whole night searching our house and car while we had Jarem and Trish drive back to the Holt Arena to search their. We eventually found it in the groove the seat belt retracts into. I have no idea how we did not lose it, someone must have been looking out for us. We also went to several different places this week to try to pick out the stone on the outside of our home. Seems like an easy thing to do right. Its not, man there is a ton of different choices which really makes it difficult. Plus I am planning on trying to do the stone myself so that adds a whole other set of issues when picking it out. I don't want to get a pattern that is to complex to the point that it takes me a year to install, yet I don't want instillation to dictate my decision to much. Oh well we will get it all figured out before to long I hope. Anyway talk to you all soon.
